Critical Time, America’s Rededication to God, Chaplains Agree

Rededicating America / Dedicated Chaplains

Rededicating America & Dedicated Chaplains

National School Chaplain Association honors the Rededication of America as One Nation Under God. 250 years of blessed endurance established upon faith. A reiteration follows, that only by God’s providence will flourishing continue.

From the school house to the White House, Chaplains have been a presence that stabilizes the culture. The very fabric of thriving-societies is woven in godly principles. America’s rededication to One Nation Under God is a declaration that revives the spiritually binding covenant of blessing and protection.

Chaplains, a backbone of American history carry the hope for tomorrow. Our future depends on the foundation of faith and support through the worst of times and the best of times. The National School Chaplain Association is dedicated to supplying and sustaining this vital role.

Chaplains care for the distressed and the blessed. Officiating Chaplains conduct ceremonies of dedication, oaths of office, federal, state and congressional meetings; as well as weddings and funerals. The structural framework called America incorporates chaplaincy representing God in military, civilian and secular spaces.

Schools need a rededication of the same vital service

Today’s students are in need of what the original American schools once had. Absence of suicide and school shootings. Schools were strong in spelling, math and citizenship. Reading opened understanding beyond the isolated and small wooden school house.

History, science, mental/physical health, structure, government and social principles were based out of a comprehensive book: The Bible. It contains answers to life’s questions and the fulfillment of a common yearning for something bigger than ourselves.

The Bible was America’s first text book

Unable to import Bibles in 1782, “Robert Aitken, the official printer of the Continental Congress, approached Congress for permission to print Bibles. He explained that his Bible would be “a neat edition of the Holy Scriptures for the use of schools.” (p. 188, The American Story, The Beginnings by David and Tim Barton, 2020 wallbuilders.com)

Biblical principles of integrity, purpose, sacrifice and honor underpin the need for education, accountability and stewardship of land (national patriotism) law and order with the understanding of the price of freedom.

Chaplains model sacrifice and sacred Honor

  • Arlington National Cemetery dedicated "Chaplains Hill" with monuments honoring Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish chaplains who lost their lives in service.

  • A dedicated memorial honors Four Chaplains (a rabbi, a Catholic priest, and two Protestant ministers) who selflessly gave their life jackets to save others as the USAT Dorchester sank in 1943.

  • Memorial plaques dedicate honor to fallen institutional chaplains, such as FDNY Chaplain Monsignor John E. Delendick.

  • “Chaplain John Rosbrugh was the first U.S. Army chaplain killed in battle….With the outbreak of war and the defeat of the revolutionary forces at Fort Washington, George Washington wrote a letter to the citizens of Northampton Pennsylvania calling on them to assist the Continental Army.  Reverend Rosbrugh read the letter to his congregation, followed by a sermon featuring Judges 5:23.” Rosbrugh inspired men in his congregation to join the Continental Army, they agreed on one condition, that he lead them as commander.  https://thechaplainkit.com/history/army-chaplaincy/first-army-chaplain-killed-in-war/

Sadly, modern schools have missed learning these examples of love for God and Country. The freedoms now enjoyed have lately been trodden underfoot. Clearly, without the implementation of this nation’s rededication, and the support of school chaplains; the value of love, stability and honor is lost.

Why Rededicate America as One Nation Under God?  Why do schools need the accuracy of American history and God’s protection? Simply look around; the answer is self-evident. Loving others more than self comes from the Divine who is love. It is the self-governing source that supersedes rules and mere human capacity.

One Nation Under God matters because when love, mutual respect, honesty, integrity and faith with spiritual empowerment are missing; there is no restraint from chaos and destruction. There remains uproar, stealing, deception, loss of purpose, loss of ingenuity and collective thriving.

America must go back to the beginning and hold fast to the foundation that made it the greatest nation in the world.

“The entitlement mentality, the victim mentality and absence of true identity are as destructive as cancer. Even though real circumstances are the cause of such state of minds, the real issue is deception. Lies can cost as many lives as cancer. Meanwhile those deceptive thought patterns further steal all quality of life.” (Kozar 2026)

America was founded on determination for a better life regardless of the past restrictions, willingness to work, value of family and unrelenting faith in God.

Chaplains guide students, and others, to see beyond their circumstances. As challenging as they may be, circumstances do not define you.

Those who hold freedom dear will note that America holds 96% of the world’s patents. Such ingenuity comes from freedom to excel rewarded by ownership (not Marxist ideologies), but godly ethics to maintain checks and balances for the good of all mankind.

Schools need a fresh look at what made America Great. All civilian and military sectors require the strength and faith to rise above mediocrity and thrive. A rededication to a sovereign God, the Creator, is the basis of One Nation Under God wherein is a wellspring of creativity and wellbeing.

National School Chaplains Association exists to serve American Schools and beyond.
